يهدف هذا البحث إلى التأکيد على مدى الارتباط بين فعالية المشروعات الصغيرة والمتوسطة، وتحقيق التنمية الاقتصادية في مصر من خلال خلق فرص العمل والمساهمة في التخفيف من مشکلة البطالة وتحسين الإنتاجية وتوليد الدخل، وکيفية الاستفادة من تجارب بعض دول شرق وجنوب شرق أسيا في هذا المجال، وفي سبيل تحقيق أهداف البحث تم دراسة الوضع الراهن للمشروعات الصغيرة والمتوسطة في مصر، والمعوقات التي تواجهها والاستراتيجيات التي اتخذتها الحکومة لتفعيل دور هذه المشروعات في خدمة أهداف التنمية الاقتصادية، وفي ضوء نتائج البحث تم اقتراح عدة توصيات.

The objective of this study is to emphasize the extent to which small and medium enterprises are linked and achieve economic development in Egypt by creating job opportunities and contributing to alleviating the problem of unemployment, improving productivity and generating income and benefiting from the experiences of some East and Southeast Asian Countries in this field, In order to achieve the objectives of the research, the current situation of small and medium enterprises in Egypt was examined and the obstacles faced by them, the strategies adopted by the government to activate the role of these projects in the service of the objectives of economic development, In light of the results of the research, a set of recommendations were proposed.
