Determinants of Behavioral Intentions to Adopt Online Platforms to Pay Zakah and Sadaqah

المستخلص

This study examines the different factors that affect the intention of the Egyptians to use online platforms to pay Zakah and Sadaqah. A conceptual framework was developed based on an extensive literature review which led to the adoption of the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) basic model factors in addition to trust and government support. The nature of this study is quantitative where data are analyzed using Structured Equation Modeling (SEM). The sample size is composed of 244 surveys distributed via online platforms. The results of the study showed that all factors such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating condition, trust and government support have positive relationships with Behavioral Intention.  Additionally, it was found that Behavioral Intention has a positive impact on the adoption of online platform. This is an original research that analyses the main factors that affect the behavioral intentions of people in Egypt to use online platforms to pay Zakah and Sadaqah.
