تناول البحث دور الاستثمار الأجنبي المباشر في زيادة إنتاجية النفط العراقي للفترة من 2004 -2014، ولهدف بيان واقع الاستثمار الأجنبي المباشر في قطاع النفط العراقي ودورها في زيادة الإنتاجية لهذا القطاع الحيوي المهم ويفترض البحث هل يوجد تأثير للاستثمار الأجنبي المباشر على زيادة إنتاجية قطاع النفط، ولتحقيق هدف وفرضية البحث فقد قسم البحث الى ثلاثة أجزاء ـ تضمن الجزء الأول مفهوم الاستثمار الأجنبي المباشر اما الجزء الثاني فقد جاء بعنوان أنواع الاستثمارات الأجنبية في قطاع النفط من تاريخ نشوءه لحد سنوات البحث والجزء الثالث التحليل الإحصائي لأثر الاستثمار الأجنبي المباشر في الإنتاجية، وأخيرا انتهى البحث إلى النتائج والتوصيات.
