مراحل تطور العلاقات القطرية – الإيرانية

أتسمت العلاقات الإيرانية - العربية بصورة عامة، والعلاقات الإيرانية - الخليجية بصورة خاصة بکونها علاقات فرضتها المصـالح المشـترکة السياسـية والاقتصادية لما لها من تأثير على إسـتقرار الوضـع الإقليمي بمنطقة الخليج العربي. ففي عهد الشاه رضا بهلوي (1926-1979) کان الصراع هو العنصر الحاکم في إدارة العلاقات بين الجانبين. وحتـى بعد ظهور دعوات لتحالفات بين البلدين، فإن لم تحدث أثرا کافياً، بل غلب عليها التبـاين الحاد في الرؤى، واختفـاء صـورة التعـاون المشترک إلا في حدوده الدنيا، الذي اقتصر على الجانب الثقافي والـديني، أما في الإطار الاستراتيجي والإقليمي فقد تأرجحت علاقات البلدين السياسية والاقتصادية بين الصعود والهبوط، والتي تعد المرتکز الفعال في تحديد طبيعة مسار أوجه تلک العلاقات.
وعندما حصلت قطر على استقلالها السياسي عام 1971، بعد إلغائها معاهدة الحماية التي وقعتها مع الحکومة البريطانية عام 1916. والتي تنص على عدم تدخل بريطانيا في شئون الحکم الداخلية لها، إلا أن العلاقات الخارجية کانت في يد الحکومة البريطانية، استطاعت قطر أن  تتخلص من القيود التي کانت تفرضها بريطانيا على سياستها الخارجية.
وقد عرفت العلاقات الإيرانية - القطرية ما بين 1971-1979 عدة تطورات مهمة شکلت نقاطا بارزة في هذه العلاقات، سواءً في عهد الشاه قبل أو أثناء الثورة الإسلامية في إيران عام 1979.
